The municipality of Dietikon invites you to the second World Water Week. From March 16 to 23, numerous activities and workshops have been announced at various locations in the city. As a member of the Blue Community, Dietikon is committed to the sustainable and resource-conserving use of water, according to a press release. As in the previous year, the program aims to raise public awareness of water issues.

During the week, a drinking water project will be running in aid of the Swiss Protestant Reformed Church, which visitors can support by throwing a coin over their left shoulder. The campaign is based on the legend of the Trevi Fountain in Rome. A model of the famous fountain will be placed on the market square.

The graphic artist Julien Gründisch from Baden, illustrator of the “Fluss Wimmelbuch”, is realizing a free art project with children. You can contribute creatively to a large water picture. The joint work can be seen as part of the water exhibition in the foyer of the town hall. Poetry slam texts and self-painted pictures by pupils from the Luberzen school can also be admired there.

On Monday, March 18, Julien Gründisch and publisher Matthias Vatter will provide information at the Scriptum bookstore about the creation process of the Wimmelbuch and present possible uses as an educational aid. On Friday, March 22, speaker Hansheinrich Bachofen will provide interesting facts about the Limmat at the City and Regional Library.

At the end of World Water Week on Saturday, March 23, the Schönenwerd II pumping station will be put into operation. ce/heg
