Circular Economy Switzerland launches first City Circles

News-Sustainability-Today

Bern – Circular Economy Switzerland is increasingly focusing on its members. The circular economy movement is creating the first so-called City Circles in Basel, Bern and Zurich. In future, industry and project-related Circles will also initiate projects and events.

Circular Economy Switzerland (CES) reorganized itself at its General Assembly in Bern on March 19. According to a press release, the Swiss circular economy movement wants to focus its activities more strongly on its members in future. It wants to become more visible and have a decentralized impact through its members. It sees itself as a contact point, networking platform and source of inspiration.

To this end, CES will initially set up regional antennas in Basel, Bern and Zurich with so-called City Circles. Industry and project-related circles of circular economy players are to be added. The threads then come together in a coordination office in Bern.

Companies and organizations have been able to become members of the association since the beginning of the year. So far, 50 of them have already made use of it. The aim is to have around 300 members by the end of 2026. The Minerva Foundation is supporting the new start under President Philipp Rufer with a contribution. ce/stk
