Schwyz – The textile label WE ARE ZRCL, which focuses on sustainable and recyclable fashion, is promoting the reuse of garments throughout the month of September. For example, at its flagship store in Schwyz, clothing can be handed in and exchanged for others free of charge.
The Schwyz streetwear label WE ARE ZRCL, which describes itself as transparent, fair, organic and ecological, is putting September under the sign of clothing swaps and secondhand. This sends “an important signal against the omnipresent overconsumption with its negative consequences for people and the environment,” according to a media release. In addition, the fashion brand is taking part in the nationwide Secondhand Day on September 23, a “colorful wake-up call to everyone to make sustainable changes in daily consumer behavior.”
Throughout the month, the clothing exchange closet will make a stop at WE ARE ZRCL’s Schwyz flagship store, where it was already open from the end of April to the end of May. Customers can put a maximum of three items of clothing or accessories in good condition in there and take what they need from it in return. “Because every piece of clothing you give a longer life is a contribution to sustainability,” the announcement reads. In early October, the clothing exchange closet will be placed elsewhere.
In addition, until the end of September, returned and defective WE ARE ZRCL textiles can be found in a specially set up second-hand corner in the flagship store. This is an environmentally friendly way to add quality to your closet, the company says.
WE ARE ZRCL garments can be transparently traced from organic and ecological cultivation to the sewing factory through a sewn-in label with a code. The company is one of the clients of Remei, whose founder Patrick Hohmann laid the foundation for organic cotton trading and fair trade relations and sustainable textiles. ce/mm
