Visp VS/Zurich/Dubai – Dufour Aerospace has successfully closed a Series B financing round. The main investor is Dubai-based Vista Global Holding. Dufour develops tilt-wing aircraft with electrically driven propellers. His Aero3 takes off and lands like helicopters.
Dufour Aerospace has attracted Dubai-based Vista Global Holding as its lead investor for its just-completed Series B financing round. In addition to the world’s leading private business aviation group, Dufour was joined by existing and two new backers, according to a Dufour media release.
Vista’s investment and the group’s extensive industry experience, he said, will provide “valuable support for expanding the significant potential of Dufour’s innovative tilt-wing technologies and aerospace products. This technology will be used in the Aero2 unmanned aircraft and the Aero3 manned flagship from the Visp-based company with a branch in Zurich, he said.
Dufour CEO Thomas Pfammatter calls this investment by Vista an important milestone: “They recognize the importance of developing successful products and solutions to support the future of hybrid-electric tilt-wing aircraft.” Thomas Flohr, founder and chairman of Vista, says he plans to complement his global service network with Dufour’s sustainable aircraft in the future.
The Aero3 aircraft under development takes off and lands vertically like a helicopter, but flies as fast and economically as an airplane. The propellers are driven electrically. Hybrid elements enable a sufficiently large range through a conventional turbine or fuel cells. The Dufour aircraft will be used in patient and personnel transport, logistics and public safety concerns. mm
