Gossau SG/Lugano/Zurich – Charging network operator swisscharge.ch and e-mobility consultant Protoscar, both holdings of Energie 360°, are merging. The newly created competence center is intended to expand the charging network for residential properties and company fleets even faster.

Swisscharge.ch from Gossau and Protoscar merge under the name swisscharge.ch. Both companies are shareholdings of the Zurich-based utility Energie 360°. With this merger, the charging network will be expanded even faster and the electrification of residential properties and company fleets will be advanced, according to a media release from Energie 360°. This would create a “comprehensive competence center for Swiss e-mobility”: Swisscharge.ch would have 95,000 users and over 2,600 public charging points, and Protoscar would have “implementation-related consulting expertise”.

“We are thus creating the ideal conditions for the accelerated expansion of the reliable, user-friendly as well as efficient national charging infrastructure,” the head of mobility at Energie 360°, Rami Syväri, is quoted as saying. “This forms the basis for the ongoing electrification of Swiss mobility.”

The Protoscar brand name is preserved. The previous shareholder Touring Club Schweiz will retain a stake in the merged company and reportedly supports the growth plans. Jobs are not to be cut; on the contrary, new ones are to be created. mm
