Swiss Post takes over reusable packer Kickbag

Bern/St.Gallen – Swiss Post is buying up the reusable packer Kickbag. The two companies have been working together since Kickbag GmbH was founded in 2020. The St.Gallen-based start-up has developed a reusable bag for online retail.

As part of its commitment to sustainable packaging solutions, Swiss Post has been working with reusable packer Kickbag since it was founded in 2020, Swiss Post says in a statement. The young company from St.Gallen has developed a shipping bag of the same name made of recycled plastic for online retail that can be used up to 30 times. Customers can either use the kickbag to return the merchandise or send it back to the retailer free of charge. Swiss Post acts as Kickbag GmbH’s logistics partner.

As of December 16, Swiss Post has now taken over the young company. “The integration of Kickbag into our service offering is a logical step,” Johannes Cramer, Head of Logistics Services and member of the Group Executive Board, explains in the release. “We are thus supporting online retailers and the general public in implementing circular economy in Switzerland and making the shipping of goods more sustainable.” The two partner companies have agreed not to disclose the exact terms of the acquisition or the purchase price. hs
