Software from Ecospeed becomes multi-client capable

Zurich – Ecospeed launches an updated version of its software for calculating the carbon footprint of products, companies and buildings. This version is multi-client capable. Multiple users can use them. The data of other users will then remain protected.

Ecospeed, a Zurich-based software developer specializing in environmental accounting, is introducing a new version of its software for calculating the carbon footprint of products, companies and buildings. This version has been extended to include multi-client capability, according to a media release. This is a great advantage in complex applications, it continues. The user or “client” can log into various Ecospeed projects with one account and enter or edit the data depending on his access authorization. The software allows the simultaneous management of several clients with one account, whereby each client has access only to its own data.

“Multi-tenancy reduces complexity when the software is used in a variety of ways,” Thomas Herzberger, CTO and managing director of Ecospeed AG, is quoted as saying about the benefits of this release. “An example: If an energy consultant uses our software for projects with multiple clients, he can use one account to view and edit the data of different clients or projects, and he can be assigned different roles and rights for each project. Switching from one client to another is now also possible with one click.”

“In the future, companies will increasingly have to meet legal and normative requirements for CO2 accounting,” Herzberger added. He cites the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) as examples. This would involve even more parties in the recording, documentation, evaluation and auditing of CO2 balances, such as the auditing companies. This will make the new multitenant version of the software even more important, he said. ce/gba
