Le Lignon GE/Biel BE – Services industriels de Genève (SIG) and Energie Service Biel/Bienne (ESB) are to jointly construct a wind farm on the Romontberg in the Bernese Jura. The plant is set to generate 30 gigawatts of electricity in the future.
Services industriels de Genève(SIG) and Energie Service Biel/Bienne(ESB) have entered into a partnership for the construction of a wind farm. According to a press release, the plant, which will be built with five wind turbines on the Romontberg in the Bernese Jura, will produce at least 30 gigawatts of renewable and local electricity per year. To realize the project, the two companies founded the company Parc éolien de la Montagne de Romont SA. SIG holds 60 percent of the shares and ESB, which is owned by the city of Biel, holds 40 percent.
Parc éolien de la Montagne de Romont SA has been commissioned to carry out a feasibility study of the project, which also takes into account the impact on the environment. It should also take the necessary steps to obtain the building permit. ce/ww
