
Winterthur/Changzhou – Rieter has equipped its factory in Changzhou, China, with a photovoltaic system. The manufacturer of textile machinery for yarn production is thus continuing its strategy of replacing fossil fuels with renewable energies at all its sites by 2030.
Rieter has installed a solar plant at its Changzhou production site. According to its message on LinkedIn, it will produce 3,350,851 kilowatt hours annually. This saves 1173 tons of standard coal and 2922 tons of CO2 emissions.
In the National High-Tech District of Changzhou, which is located northwest of Shanghai, Rieter had opened its Center for Spinning Technology opened. In 2012, Rieter Changzhou was officially renamed Rieter (China) Textile Instruments Co., Ltd and became the company’s Chinese headquarters. The facility covers four main functions: a spinning center, a technical after-sales service center, a textile laboratory and a textile exhibition hall.
According to the company, the Rieter Group is the world’s only manufacturer of spinning machines for all processes with which products from all four spinning processes can be processed. In its climate commitment, Textilmaschinen-Holding has set itself the goal of replacing fossil fuels with renewable energies at all its sites by 2030. As an interim target, Rieter will no longer use any electricity produced from coal or carbon-based products worldwide by 2025. mm
