Nikin has successfully completed a crowdfunding campaign and reached the target of CHF 5 million in share capital. According to the crowdfunding platform Conda, the Lenzburg-based fashion manufacturer was able to attract 4076 backers.

Founded in 2016 by two “childhood friends,” Nikin is a clothing brand that makes fashion from sustainable materials in Europe that is affordable for everyone, according to the company. The customer base includes 300,000 fashion enthusiasts worldwide, of which 200,000 are in Switzerland and 80,000 in Germany. A total of 50 employees belong to the company, which “in a difficult industry” has generated annual sales of more than 10 million Swiss francs without external investment.

For every garment purchased, a tree is planted. More than 1.8 million trees have been planted in cooperation with OneTreePlanted. According to information, the tree sponsorships not only grow the company’s success, “but also entire forests”.

Part of Nikin’s sustainable path is making the manufacturing side transparent. In addition, the company ensures the traceability of the tree certificates awarded as well as the environmental projects supported through purchasing. heg
