Lyreco reduces emissions from event to sustainability

Dietikon ZH/Spreitenbach AG – Lyreco held this year’s customer event on sustainability with a consistent innovation. The event’s CO2 emissions were reduced as far as possible.

Lyreco held its annual customer event on January 25 at the Umwelt Arena in Spreitenbach. The topic of sustainability was also addressed with a consistent innovation at the event itself. As the company aligns its measures with its own vision, the event was held with as little CO2 emissions as possible, explained the Dietikon-based provider of office and workplace solutions in a press release. Unavoided emissions are offset by a financial contribution to the Swiss mountain forest project.

“An initial analysis of the Unboxed Event’s CO2 emissions has shown that around 90 percent of emissions are generated in the areas of mobility and catering,” said Tina Kempf, Head of Sustainability Management & Media Office at Lyreco Switzerland AG, in the press release. “We therefore avoid transportation wherever possible and focus on vegetarian, seasonal and regional sourcing, preferably organic, for our catering concept.” The location of the event was also chosen with sustainability criteria in mind.

In the press release, Lyreco presents a total of eight measures to keep the event’s CO2 emissions as low as possible. In addition to dispensing with print products in large print runs, this also includes the use of fully recyclable event furniture. Participants were included by asking them to travel by public transport. ce/hs
