Amriswil TG – ISA bodywear’s production facility in Portugal has received SteP certification from Oeko-Tex. This means that some of the products made by the textile company from Amriswil can carry the Made in Green label. It stands for environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing.
ISA bodywear can label part of its collection of underwear, daywear and nightwear with the Made in Green label. The company’s own production facility Jerisa Lda. in Portugal has “successfully passed the audit for the STeP certificate from Oeko-Tex,” Sallmann AG, as owner of the ISA bodywear brand name, informs in a statement. STeP certifies a production facility that the textile or leather products manufactured there are produced using environmentally friendly processes and under socially acceptable working conditions.
ISA bodywear textiles bearing the Made in Green label are thus free of harmful substances and produced under fair working conditions. The label gives interested parties “the opportunity to choose products that are both ecologically and ethically safe,” writes the family-owned company from Amriswil. In addition, Sallmann AG has increased the size of its photovoltaic system on the production site. “We are pleased to now be able to cover 100 percent of the process energy we need through our own solar installations,” the release states. hs
