Flux Mobility introduces all-electric four-wheel drive system

Winterthur – Flux Mobility is celebrating the introduction of a fully electric all-wheel drive system for its e-transporters as a breakthrough. It has been developed and built by the company in Winterthur. The first vehicle was delivered to the Basel-Stadt fire department.

Winterthur-based Flux Mobility AG celebrated a milestone with over 140 guests: the self-developed all-electric four-wheel drive system for e-transporters. Following the company’s inclusion in the Technology Fund portfolio at the beginning of July, this is a further milestone, according to a media release.

Founded in 2021, the company designs and builds high-quality e-transporters. City Councilor Christa Meier had emphasized at the event that Flux was thus actively contributing to industry in Winterthur and was continuing and renewing the industrial tradition.

In his opening speech, CEO and co-founder Duga Hoti reportedly emphasized that Flux’s all-wheel drive system enables one-to-one replacement of diesel vehicles. This is possible, he says, because of the extraordinarily short charging time and a real range of up to 320 kilometers when fully loaded. Moreover, both the payload (over 1000 kilograms) and the towing capacity (over 3500 kilograms) are identical to those of diesel vehicles.

The first Flux Mobility vehicle with all-wheel drive was delivered in mid-August to the Basel-Stadt professional fire department, where it is currently undergoing a test phase. Patrick Sumi, representative of the Basel-Stadt high-altitude rescue service, reported at the event that the expansion and design of another such vehicle was appealing to his team. The vehicle was on site during the celebration and could be inspected. ce/mm
