Windisch AG – The University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) is now offering a CAS course on sustainable business development. In cooperation with the Aargauische Kantonalbank, a six-month continuing education program has been created that imparts practical knowledge in the field of sustainability.

With the support of the Aargauische Kantonalbank, the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland(FHNW) has created a course offering for sustainability in companies. Under the title “CAS Success Factor Sustainability – Opportunities for SMEs, Benefits for the Environment and Society”, the practice-oriented continuing education program will start on October 20, 2023.

According to the course description, the course is aimed at sustainability officers in SMEs as well as customer advisors in the banking and insurance sectors and aims to strengthen sustainability competence in companies. SMEs in particular are under increasing pressure to “make their operations environmentally and socially sustainable,” it says. Many decision-makers shy away from the effort involved or do not know the ways to develop and implement a sustainability strategy.

In the modular course, participants gain understanding and action competence for sustainability. You will learn to identify areas of the business that need to become more sustainable. They also become familiar with sustainable business models and can implement them, it says.

The CAS consists of five modules as well as a final thesis in which a concrete project is realized for the company. Course duration is from October 2023 to April 2024. The course location is the Brugg-Windisch campus. On August 23, the FHNW will provide further details at an online info event. ce/heg
