Uzwil SG/Manno TI – Bühler and xFarm Technologies have signed a far-reaching agreement to monitor supply chains in the agricultural industry. The aim of the partnership is to collect data and practices that increase sustainability in the food industry.
(CONNECT) Bühler, a technology company based in the St.GallenBodenseeArea, and Ticino-based xFarm Technologies have agreed a long-term partnership. The aim is to design state-of-the-art data collection along the entire supply chain in the agricultural sector in order to have a positive impact on sustainable management, according to a press release.
Both companies want to provide farms with digital tools for collecting and analyzing data. xFarm Technologies specializes in data collection at farm level. Bühler’s Environmental Quantification Services make it possible to quantify environmental impacts along the supply chain. The tools are then used to optimize sustainable action.
“I am very proud to be working with a top Swiss company like Bühler, which, like xFarm Technologies, believes strongly in investing in research, development and innovation,” said Matteo Vanotti, CEO of xFarm Technologies, in the press release. “This partnership is a great opportunity for all players in the agri-food industry who want to have a comprehensive overview of the entire supply chain from field to shelf.”
Ian Roberts, CTO of Bühler, is also delighted with the agreed partnership. It could “play an important role in helping our customers understand the impact of their agricultural footprint.” ce/ww
