Aarau/Buchs AG – AEW and Eniwa have founded a car-sharing company that only has electric vehicles in its fleet. Swiss E-Car AG is to extend the car-sharing model for e-cars of the two partner companies to the whole of Switzerland.

AEW Energie AG from Aarau and Eniwa AG from Buchs founded the equally owned joint venture Swiss E-Car AG based in Aarau on January 22, the two Aargau-based energy service providers announced in a joint press release. They have been working together for four years to promote electric mobility and have developed a car-sharing model for electric vehicles. So far, 59 e-cars are available in five cantons.

The new joint venture is now set to establish this model throughout Switzerland. “The increasing demand for advanced and resource-saving mobility will accelerate the development of e-car sharing,” said Arian Rohs, CEO of Swiss E-Car AG, in the press release. “Swiss E-Car AG provides an attractive and sustainable e-mobility concept in cooperation with municipalities, companies and administrations of residential complexes.” The company’s activities will focus on urban regions. ce/hs
